XPOSED Queer Film Festival Berlin presents highlights from its 2026 edition, the 20th anniversary of Berlin’s beloved festival for queer cinephiles, at Freiluftkino Kreuzberg. Mixing fiction, documentary, animation, and essay film, these six works portray and imagine queer stories from Brazil, Switzerland-France, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Turkey.

Picumã (Sladká Meduza) is an urban western that follows Lua and Shaiene in their search for their friend Cleo, who has mysteriously disappeared. Working Class (Nadir Sönmez), a fictional manifesto, mocks the fetishization and romanticization of “the working class.” XPOSED Audience Award winner Thunder Bird (Anonymous) combines archival footage with recent interviews to tell the story of a dance troupe that withstood military rule and stigmatization in Myanmar. XPOSED Lolly Award winner How A River Is Born (Luma Flôres) unfolds in a beautiful mountainous landscape, where Ayla embarks on a journey of discovery and liberation. A is for Andra (Charmaine Poh) follows a former MTV VJ, tracing their evolution from a rising star in Bandung to a non-binary transmasculine kindergarten teacher living in Berlin. In Taxi Moto (Gaël Kamilindi), a director, prevented from making his film, reinvents his story elsewhere, crafting a passionate and poetic act of resistance that ignites the audience’s imagination.
