Christian Weber is a publicist with a special focus on queer cinema. He studied Film in Mainz and Edinburgh, graduating with a thesis on Pier Paolo Pasolini. He subsequently completed a PhD on Gus Van Sant, which, in an expanded version, became the first German-language monograph on the director in 2014. For nearly ten years, Christian worked as a publicist and Head of Communications for the film distributor Salzgeber. He was also editor-in-chief of the queer film magazine Sissymag and co-director of the Queerfilmfestival. In 2022, Christian co-edited the book Queer Cinema Now, a compendium of over 200 texts on seminal queer films from 2009 to 2021, and co-curated an accompanying film series at Kino Arsenal. For the article series “Queer Cinema Classics”, which ran on Sissymag and queer.de from 2024 to 2026, he compiled a list of 100 queer film classics. Following his passion for making queer cinema visible, Christian joined XPOSED in 2026, where he manages press and PR.
