The 16th edition of the XPOSED Queer Film Festival Berlin takes place from the 26th to the 29th of May, 2022. Staying true to the festivals dedication and support for queer film production, the Queer Short Film Fund will be awarded for the eight time. From now on and until 3rd of May, filmmakers can apply with their scripts and concepts! The submitted projects should open up perspectives on queer topics that go beyond established LGBTQIA representations of mainstream niche cinema. Five projects – form is open to fictional, documentary, animated, experimental or essayistic forms, but length limited to a maximum of 10 minutes – will be selected for a public pitch on May 28 at aquarium (Skalitzer Straße 6, 10999 Berlin).
The Queer Short Film Fund, launched on the occasion of the 10th festival anniversary, has been supporting queer short film productions since 2015. The Lolly Award Jury will select the winning project. The fund is awarded a cash prize of 1,500 €, a voucher for filming equipment worth 2,000 €, provided by 25p* cine support, two days of Grading – including Conforming – with additional creation of a DCP & Web Screener worth 3,000€, provided by Planemo, plus a voucher valued to 3000€ for the audio post-production at the BUFA dubbing studios, including the use of the Atelier Gardens co-working space. In addition, the fund is accompanied by a mentoring programme: An industry expert advises the winner in five sessions from script development to the production phase and post-production.

Dem Anspruch, queere Filme und Filmemacher*innen zu fördern, bleibt XPOSED auch in schwierigen Zeiten treu. Deshalb wird 2022 der Queer Short Film Fund zum achten Mal ausgerufen. Ab sofort und noch bis zum 3. Mai können sich Filmemacher*innen mit ihren Drehbüchern und Konzepten bewerben! Die eingereichten Projekte sollen Sichtweisen auf queere Themen eröffnen, die über gewohnte LGBTQIA-Repräsentationen des Mainstream-Kinos hinausgehen. Fünf Projekte – egal ob in fiktionaler, dokumentarischer, animierter, experimenteller oder essayistischer Form, aber mit einer maximalen Länge von 10 Minuten – werden für einen öffentlichen Pitch am 28. Mai im aquarium (Skalitzer Straße 6, 10999 Berlin) ausgewählt.
Der Queer Short Film Fund, anlässlich des 10. Festivaljubiläums ins Leben gerufen, unterstützt seit 2015 queere Kurzfilmproduktionen. Die eigens für den Film Fund einberufene Lolly Award Jury wird das Gewinner-Projekt küren. Der Fund ist mit einem Geldpreis von 1.500 € prämiert, einem Gutschein für Drehequipment im Wert von 2.000 €, bereitgestellt von 25p* cine support, einem zweitägigen Grading inkl. Conforming mit anschließendem Erstellen einer DCP und eines Web Screeners im Wert von 3,000€, bereitgestellt von Planemo, plus einem Gutschein im Wert von 3,000€ für die Audio-Postproduktion in den BUFA Synchron-Studios, sowie Nutzung des Atelier Gardens Co-Working Space. Darüber hinaus wird der Fund von einem Mentor*innen-Programm begleitet: Ein*e Branchenkenner*in berät den*die Gewinner*in in fünf Sitzungen von der Drehbuchentwicklung über die Produktionsphase bis hin zur Postproduktion.
