A wake, also known as a funeral reception, is an event where close friends and family of the deceased gather together to pay their respects to their loved ones. In our queer community, we love and be loved; we seek love and lost love; we party hard like there is no tomorrow. Over the years and years, we have lost many loved ones either by violation or self-termination. Paying homage to Aérea Negrot and taking her song *It’s Lover, Love* (2011) to bring us together, we invite our community members to a collective wake for lost loved ones– to memorize, to reflect, to consult, to console, to hug and to love, not over, but forever. 𝗪𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀, 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀.

PROCEEDING

Food and drinks set up on a long table, everyone is welcome to bring some food and drinks to share with lost loved ones and the living souls among us.

Shout-out names of lost ones with a little tribute is volunteered by any community member present.

ACTS of tales, talks, reads, songs and mini-performances are self- motivated and activated at any self-determined moments throughout the evening.

If you want to propose an act, send us a note with technical needs. With your consent, we list your names for the release of the program. If you don’t sign up, we also welcome your intervention/acts at any given moments during the evening.
