For this year\u2019s opening shorts, it\u2019s time to watch, feel and reflect at once. These films show how extending reality can facilitate catharsis, how these extensions can be canvases for our dreams and fears, how they can contain connection, relationships, entire worlds of emotion and maybe projection, how they make us process and analyze, but also distort and even disconnect from reality.\u00a0<i>We Will Be Who We Are<\/i>\u00a0tells the story of two queer friends marrying and thereby trying to escape society, while\u00a0<i>This is (Not) Your Ocean<\/i>\u00a0is a ritual of grief for a loved one, known only through the internet.\u00a0<i>JuJu vs The Possibilities of Life, Love and Death<\/i>\u00a0filters the potential implications of an encounter between two migrants at the box office of a cinema in Bangkok through different film genres. In the animation\u00a0<i>Luz Diabla<\/i>, an overstimulated raver ends up in the middle of nowhere, and the protagonist of\u00a0<i>Tell Her What Happened to Me<\/i>\u00a0tries to find a new balance between reality and feelings after having a crush on a guy, and the queer (plus sized body) joy of being in love.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3404,"parent":0,"menu_order":1,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"feature":[54],"short-film":[53],"class_list":["post-3288","film","type-film","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","feature-feature","short-film-short-program-category"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.0 -
